With 53 schools descending on our coast, the energy between the Strand and Stellenbosch is electric. But it’s not just about the U-11s and U-13s anymore—this year, the “Gees” have gone to a whole new level.

The Weekend Warm-up: More Than Just School Rugby 🎶🍻

The festival kicks off with a massive itinerary that proves the “event” started long before the first whistle. If you’re in the Strand this weekend, here is where you need to be:

• Friday, 27 March (19:40): The ultimate nostalgia trip! Watch the Lochie Old Boys (Lochnerhof) take on the Paul Roos Old Boys. It’s pride, history, and heavy-hitting rugby.
• The Marquee Tent: After the Old Boys match, the party moves to the Marquee for FREE live music with Nic Stevens. 🎤
• Saturday, 28 March: The vibe continues as the Stormers vs Edinburgh game will be shown on big screens in the tent, followed by Werner van den Hoven.

Whether you are an Old Boy lace-up or a parent of a future Springbok, one thing is certain: Rugby and Braai are inseparable. With 53 schools and thousands of supporters in town, the Strand is buzzing. If you’re heading to the Marquee Tent or setting up camp for the weekend, don’t settle for “average” campsite meat.

• Biltong & Droëwors: The only acceptable snack for an Old Boys match.
• The Festival Braai: After the Stormers game on Saturday, keep the fire going with our Premium A2 Grade Lamb.
